"The True Cost" For What Extent

The other day I saw a very inspiring film that talked about how fast fashion in the fashion industry has ruined our economy and has created more injustices to the people of our planet. From that particular film it stated some things that we the people can do to help change tis problem and make a difference.
Some things we as a society can do in order to make a change and stop the negative effects of “Fast Fashion” are to. Stop and recognize/ research the main contributors to fast fashion and allow yourself to limit the amount you spend at those stores, if it is a place you shop at. This will then shorten the demand of fast fashion for the main contributors and will eventually help our economy. Now one might think how can myself, one individual make a difference. Well your effort in shortening the demand will also inspire others to do the same and from there it will cause a chain reaction. That's if you inform your friends of this horrible outbreak. Another way is by thrifting for clothes you like will inhibit in yourself recycling clothes that would otherwise end up in a dump. Every year and average individual will dump 82 pounds of clothes per year wich in the united states adds up to millions of pound of clothes a year. Only ten percent of those clothes make it into america's’ GoodWill and thrift stores. The other 90% goes to other third world countries including Haiti. Fun fact, isn't it a bit ironic that third world countries produces great sums of clothes for the americas and uk, etc. Just to find that those clothes that the shed blood and tears on are going to end up right on their own backs in a couple of years. It is important to thrift because one garment will spend 200 to 300 years just to break down and with the help or your recycling this problem can be reduced. Anything will help. Nevertheless it is very important to learn what ‘Fast Fashion” does to our economy, the workers/people and its true cost. The true cost of “Fast Fashion is that there are people who die, who don't see their children but twice a year, who starve, who get beaten , who fall sick of  pollution, who only make 10$ a month, who farm at the risc of their own lives. At the brink of it all The true cost is death, illness, poverty, pollution, social inequalities, corruption, and children left without their parents. All for what exactly, to make 52 Different trends a year which result in new trends every week. That will unfortunately end up with consumers throwing out more clothes because it has gone out of style. There is a huge chain reaction from then on that only causes more and more problems to our economy and society. Do Not support “Fast Fashion’’ as the only thing you will be gaining from it is subconscious guilt.
Not only that but marketing campaigns advertise fashion that is disposable much like rolls of paper towels. I personally do not agree with this because i do not believe that fashion should ever be thought about as disposable. Nor do i believe that clothes should ever be thought of as just things. For i know that there are people in this world who do not have either clothes and or money to even buy them. This then makes me grateful to have clothes on my back weather they are hand me downs, designer or from the thrift store. Marketing Campaigns we can all agree, only show and tell you what the people / consumers want to here. Advertisement compares fashion to things we use instead of things we need. This then makes people think that fashion is like face wash, cotton swabs etc. Fashion should not be made to look like this because it results in overspending which leads to more cloths being thrown away, the more clothes thrown away the more social injustice and economic problems. We are consumers but one shouldn't think of us as a money machine but people. As we all look to gain more money we also subconsciously are make ourselves poorer. This is because we give away our money like we throw away our clothes and from then on the cycle continues.
After watching this film i definitely will be putting in more effort into helping my planet and the people who live on it. To achieve this i will shop less at the contributing stores, will thrift shop more, will recycle used clothes to make better ones, will limit the amount of clothes i throw away, and will try to buy sustainable fashion. In my life i have learned to give back to others as it not only give me satisfactory but gives me a purposeful feeling knowing that i have done my part in changing the world. Weather it is small or not. So as i watched this movie i noted all the things i can do to change the economy and social injustice as i already have paid my dues to discriminations of mankind. My purpose in life is to be the best individual i can be and in order to due so i follow my heart. My heart today says that doing this will be one of the things i will never forget and will always cherish. For the sanctity of the people is my personal goal. One individual can make a difference and one individual can change history. I might not do either of theses but at the end of the day i know i have done my part.

Fast Fashion companies that harm our planet and people at whatever cost.

From Sketch to Reality- Wedding Dresses from Toilet Paper

In the first week of my Fashion Design and Textile art Myself and one other collaborated together to make a avant garde body suit/ dress. Together we designed a dress that combined Lady Gaga's style with Beyonce's. To describe our dress it had long broad shoulder that stuck out like a 80's blazer. With a deep v neck that stops at the empire waist, form there an elegant bottom body suit would pull the across the body from the use of vertical line. Every wedding dress should have a train so the design had a train that would connect from the shoulders down in to a tuxedo tail.  Which Begun to look so beautiful in the sketch we couldn't wait to get started. As time goes on we as group realized this dress is going to be really hard to make. This is because when making the original design we did not incorporate hte fact that our fabric is toilet paper. At the end of the day i was proud of the work my partner and i had accomplished but we both realized took on a bit more then we could chew. Fortunately our group went from 2 partners to 4 in a matter of four days. Which allowed more hands to help, more ideas, more critique, and a design that worked.
After my partner and myself got a new group member the three of us looked to find out what we wanted and what would make this dress look more like a weeding gown and not for a Golden Globe awards' gown. Together we thought taking off the shoulder pads, long tuxedo train and the deep v would allow the dress to look more elegant instead of avant garde. Within those few minutes of redesigning our dress i learned  that line placement and design play a huge role in the outcome of a garment. In particular  i learned that line gives direction to a design and break larger areas in to smaller ones. Lines also create movement, carrying the eyes across, down, up, etc. there are also many forms of line like vertical, horizontal, diagonal ,and curved. All of which i knew prior to this lab but did not know it played a huge part in fashion, i my elf will not look at fashion the same.with that being said as a group we created an optical illusion that allowed the eye to make whom ever wear this seem taller. this is because of line. line also allowed us to make our garment move the eye to make the hips seem larger. Overall with the help of brainstorming and knowledge of line our group made huge progress with our design.
At the very last day in other person was added to our group, personally it was great to have the extra opinion and hands. unfortunately we did not get the chance to agree on the dress. the critiquing process was a great way to deliberate the individuals work effort and the groups ability to work together, with that being said it was much harder for my group to work for we started with only two people everyone else had 4. Not to complain but to make our work seem even more spectacular as wee had to work twice as hard to get our outcome. Our Group Mistakes such as designs and in ability to make a team decision, our accomplishments on finishing our dress and dedicated team effort made and beaked us. Thankfully we as a group made the dress on paper a reality.

The Imphamis Colour

Color to the world of fashion plays a huge role as it is radical to the eye. Color is the "it" in fashion for the color sets trends, motions, and inspiration. Color  not only sets a mold but compels the consumer to but the product. " I personal would go on a frenzy if there was a store purely dedicated to my favorite color." Color decisions begin at the very beginning if the development cycle for in helps the design begin the lay put of design, the textiles used, the textures used, and the patterns. on might call color the start of a fashion wardrobe. Every season there is a new color being introduces the the fashion world and every year the in the "New Black" color and trust and believe every season will have this color as one of it. when winter comes around cooler, and warmer color trend, when it summer tints are the new it. If color weren't the start then what would be. Without color there wouldn't be  Seasonal trends, brand names colors, signature and lay out.

Norms and There Importance to A Groups Function!

Norms or guidelines that reflect expectations of how group members should act or  interact. Norms Reflect what behavior are allowed or not; good or not; right or not. Norms can also relate to how people look, behave and or communicate with one another. By defining what social behaviors lies within acceptable boundaries. norms can help a group functions smoothly and face conflict without falling apart. Thus they can constituent a potent face to promote positive interactions. how one should go about setting group norms to imply utmost efficient function is to ask four simple questions; what topics are not appropriate for the group to discuss, how and when, if ever, will the group behave casually, how and what degree will members respect and attend to each others statement and view points, and what mechanisms will the group use to solve problems. All these questions can be changed to fit the norms of appropriate behavior and communication. Over all Norms are important to a group or organization because it adds consistency, organization, and efficiency. but most importantly there is a time in place for everything.

Sustainable Fashion

Is it possible to make Eco friendly fashion, well indeed it is. The on going design philosophy and trend of sustainability has a goal that can indubitably be supported by the people on terms of fashions impact on the environment - Sustainable Fashion. In the late nineteen eighties sustainable fashion came to be one of the new and desired fashion trends. but not up until the 2000's did the trend explode and find its way in to many brands. Svilu, Kowtow, Freedom Of Animals and
Amour Vert are all coexisting brand today that emphasis the important use of Sustainable Fashion designs. Such as natural fibers, cellulose, protection, recycled fibers and up cycled fibers are used to make beautiful designs that not only help the environment but allow fashion to be more affordable to the public. Since suitable fashion is the main point of focus for these brands all designs are made with the up most sincerer work. in a seance sustainability is much like social justice for the planet. every day people go about there life neglecting the fact that the earth cant protect its self. It is the peoples job to make sure that the earth we live in stays "healthy" or well maintained. As we only have one. At the end of the day recognition is given to these brave and thoughtful designers for they made it there goal to protect our environment.
For Goop/Gwyneth diehards and breezy fashion chicks alike, Amour Vert is totally on point—in fact, Paltrow recently teamed up with the brand to design a capsule collection. The spring collection's nautical leanings and bright pops of color are perfect for the weather's upswing into summer, and the zero-waste philosophy, sustainable fabrics, and low-impact dyes mean that your conscience will feel as good as you look.

The Golden Globe Awards - besides celebrating the best television shows - starts off the night covering the awards of the season with what is expected to be a nigh filled with stunning fashion. As hollywoods biggest stars appear at the Golden Globe Awards, captivating fashion makes its way down the red carpet. From designers Vara Wang, Zuhair Murad, Gucci, Michael Kors, Victor & Rolf, Iris Serban and Versace. All of witch have engaging and stunning works of art Zuhair Murad has the most eye catching work on the red carpet. Olivia Culpo, Sofia Vergara, Tracee Ellis Ross and lily Collins all appeared at the Golden Globe Awards in Murad's new Couture collection. With the beautiful use of embroidering, detail and sequence Murad manages to pull of my personal favorite dresses of the night. Along with all the stunning pieces also came the not so stunning nor easy on the eyes, looks. Chrissy Metz in Chrisian Siriano Was my least favorite gown of the evening for it did not flatter Chrissy's body nor did the dress look as though it was made of good quality fabric. Throughout the Golden Globe Awards Black and/or white, flesh tones, pinks, blues and grays were the trending colors of the night. Though there were many bold colors these stuck out most, for they are the new black of the year. Not only did the Golden Globe Awards showcase celebrities beautiful dresses but simplicity as well. As there night goes by and more gowns appear less and less jewelry is noticed. From only earrings and a simple bracelet to a necklace and a few rings, the lack of jewelry only made the celebrities look even more stunning in their designer gowns. Over the array of designers comes trendy styles which in this particular case where low v, square, bateau and/or sweet heart neck lines that were absolutely flattering to the ladies wearing them. As the night goes on the emphasis of glam and fashion become clear for the new year. For January 8th, 2017 Golden Globe Awards made the new trends of the year.

Have you made any New Year's Resolutions? What are they? How would you challenge yourself? How will you accomplish these things?

At the end of every year I pick a resolution for the upcoming year. This New Year, my resolution is to become a vegetarian and to be the best individual i can be. Over the years I  have made a goal and stuck to it, as I felt it teaches one to stay motivated and determined. Which inevitably allows one to be self reliant. In this particular class i will aim to achieve more knowledge of fashion and applying it to my work to gain the best possible out come. To do this i will stay dedicated and motivated to do the best I can do. I will also achieve the ability to apply my interpenetration of art in to the masterpiece that I want it to be. To accomplish both of these resolutions in this class i will listen to advise, directions and stay motivated and inspired. Never the less I am very excited to make my visions a reality. Over the course of the semester i would like to challenge myself to apply inspirational art to my canvases.

Where do you think designers find their inspiration? What inspires you?

Every designer has there own way of interpreting their work. Weather the inspiration are there inner reflection, imagination, childhood memories, and goal designs that will hopefully carve the future. Complexity, imagination, diversity and out of the box designs are what most fashion designers illiterate. Based on that one must think that there work is branched off of  other people in the art field. Thus the work of the individual will be different, better, stronger, and have a new and creative way at looking at the art they are making. Inspiration is found in many things weather it be an object, feeling, subject, place and all of which can be turned into a beautiful master pieces.

As my imagination grows i realize that my inspirations cast off of my goals in life. In other words i am inspired by successes. My imagination grows as my want to succeed grows. I a inspired buy the new, the different, the loud , the sentimental, the crowd of people that vastly different. I am inspired by those who stand beside me. My goal is to take my inspiration and make something that not only myself will be inspired by but others as well.
